The Alphabet Meme
Alas. I am suffering from a little bit of writer’s block brought on by the excitement of the elections and also the fact that my pants are still a bit tight, and I’m so tired of this whole “working for a living” thing. Yes, it is one of those days. But! I scoured the Internets to find something to write about and I found this meme, which I shall forthwith resurrect and dust off and fill out for you! Yay!
A - Available or Single? Wait a second, isn’t that the same thing? If you are available, you are single, right? Or not, I guess. I am not single, but I am available to get drinks with friends, though that happens all too infrequently.
B - Best Friend? My best gay-guy friend Stan. And Jameson, of course. But there is something to be said about having a best friend that is not your SO. Stan keeps me, me.
C - Cake or Pie? That is a tough one. If it is a well-done red velvet, angel food, or molten chocolate, then I would say cake. But I also like grasshopper ice cream pies from Baskin-Robbins, warm apple pie ala mode, and boston creme pies. Now I’m hungry.
D - Drink of Choice? Maker’s and Coke or Grey Goose and Ginger Ale. If they have Grey Goose Pear, sometimes I will do that with Ginger Ale. Or a margarita.
E - Essential Item(s)? My iPhone and work blackberry (I swear, it is a leash). Also, and I don’t know if this counts, but I have to get my eyebrows waxed at least once a month. It’s a weird compulsion, but I feel like a hairy mess if I don’t get them done.
F - Favorite Color? Pink - like a strong hot pink. And Kelly Green. And Sky blue.
G - Gummi Bears or Worms? Worms are good because they are more substantive with the gumminess, but bears are cool because you can decapitate them with your teeth.
H - Hometown? NYC!
I - Indulgence? I indulge a lot, unfortunately for me and my credit card and waistline. Clothes shopping, massages, facials, shoes, the afore-mentioned brow waxing, FFDs (fun, fancy dinners).
J - January or February? What kind of question is this?
K - Kids? Eventually. When I/we can afford them. I was telling a friend the other day that I was not the “natural mother”/nurturer type. I think it is because I have always been the “baby” of the family and my group of friends.
L - Life is incomplete without… Love. The Beatles have it right - All you Need is Love.
M - Marriage Date None as of yet.
N - Number of Siblings One older brother.
O - Oranges or Apples? Apples. Oranges are hard to peel and pulpy. But, a mushy apple is THE WORST.
P - Phobias/Fears Bee stings. I will run and hide and look like a complete ass to get away from the bees. I think it is because I’ve never been stung before…so maybe it is actually fear of the unknown? Besides that, not much fears, but I will cop to having a pretty distinct set of neuroses and idiosyncrasies about dirt and crumbs that drives Jameson NUTS.
Q - Favorite Quote “One by one, we can be the better world we wish for.” I saw it on a card, and it stuck with me ever since.
R - Reasons to Smile? The holidays and Christmas music always make me smile.
S - Season? Currently, we are knee deep in cloudy, chilly Fall. And I like it. But I like all the seasons, it is a good thing that we get all four (though muted versions of some of them in LA…)

U - Unknown Fact About Me I was the valedictorian of my Kindergarten class!
V - Vegetarian or Oppressor of Animals? Oh, I’m a big time carnivore. At restaurants I’ll usually get the steak or the burger. I’m trying, however, on the day-to-day, to eat more greens and less meats generally.
W - Worst habits? My severe lack of self-discipline, which precludes me from dieting, exercising regularly, and getting to my laundry. I think I use up all my self-discipline at work, so I have none of it left for my personal life.
X - X-rays or Ultrasounds? Strange questions. Ummm, neither?
Y - Your Favorite Foods Anything trashy - Taco Bell, etc.
Z - Zodiac Virgo!

Hello-
Have you ever had writer’s block before? Don’t feel compelled to put something up.Maybe you are just enjoying being in a steady, stable relationship…? I think where you might find inspiration may be in the philosophical side of life.
btw about eating habits….i was talking to someone and realized that my addiction to sugary foods was more out of habit than really wanting sugary foods. Once I realized that, I stopped eating desserts. (its only been 3 weeks) but I don’t anticipate caving into temptation.
Another thing I want to know…Do you know one person who is affected by the economy? Thousands of people are being laid off every week, and I am contributing more to my emergency fund than usual. Are you scared about what could happen should you get laid off? I haven’t read in a while, so if you
