Not your typical girly-girl
Things I do that are EXTREMELY stereotypically girly:
- Spend too money on shoes and purses.
- Read Vogue/Lucky/trashy gossip magazines.
- Talk inscessantly about boys and my relationships and your relationships and the mystery that is the male mind and oh my god he said/did/looked this way, what does that mean??
- Always have an outfit. And I mean ALWAYS.
- Feel more comfortable in heels than in flats. Never wear sneakers. (What “outfit” do sneakers go with?)
- Love the color pink.
- Worry and hyper-criticize myself about my looks - my weight, wrinkles, acne, dry skin, body hair.
- Always match my panties with my bra.
- Never say “no” to cupakes and/or chocolate and/or ice cream.
- Indulge in facials, massages, and any kind of treatment the spa has to offer.
- Favored “look” is a miniskirt and stillettos.
Things I do that are NOT girly in any way, shape, or form:
- Hate wearing makeup. Only wear it on special occassions.
- Never eat veggies, unless they are deep fried, like potatoes, and come on the side of a bacon cheeseburger.
- NEVER EVER EVER drink Diet Coke, or any diet beverage for that matter. Drink only the full sugar stuff, and several cans a day. (Heh, and I wonder why I worry about acne and weight gain.)
- My apartment looks like a frat house - no decorations, no frilly bric-a-brac, nothing on the walls, no lace, no stuffed animals.
- I often “forget” to moisturize. I don’t like the greasy feeling.
- Rarely “do” my hair.
- Don’t know how to cook. Don’t know anything about flowers, home decor.
- Haven’t done laundry in WEEKS. (I know, it is gross. Fortunately, I have a lot of clothes!)
- Hate Disney cartoons.
- Don’t like most babies/kids. Will not coo or squee or want to hold one if in near proximity. Am not sure if I want one of my own. Am also not sure if I want to get married anytime soon. Always thought of marriage and kids as something “grown ups” do, and I don’t feel like a grown up yet.
What about you guys? How much of a girly-girl are you?

oh dear you would die if you saw the shoes I owned, or should I say don’t own? I also wear very little to no make-up and omg, I hate the greasy face feeling as well!! I rarely wear skirts, because I hate my legs.
Usually it’s jeans that cost in excess of $150, rainbow flip-flops and a tank top with some type of surf brand sweatshirt, roxy, o’neil, etc. I don’t drink soda AT ALL, but instead my day is filled with coffee, water, more water and then usually an alcoholic beverage of sorts. I do laundry weekly and if for some reason this routine gets messed with I experience serious anxiety. I hate having dirty clothes. I do love pink. And I almost never match my panties with my bras!
I wouldn’t say I’m to much of a girly girl! I think you beat me!

If your moisturizer feels greasy, you should look for a lighter one! There’s plenty of good options, Chanel used to have a light face cream; now I’m using something in a blue container from Guerlain. Keeping hydrated but not oily can help with your acne, too.
Great list! I definitely am sometimes a girly-girl, I love clothes and fashion and make-up; but in other ways I’m totally not; I’m definitely more the man in my relationship in every way, it’s kind of funny.

Oooo, what a fun post!
I don’t think I am a girly-girl; although I am very interested in home design and decor. I, too, forget to moisturize. It takes me 5 minutes to put on makeup (a little of foundation, blusher, and mascara). Also, I don’t own a kajillion hair/beauty products.
But, I also loooove talking about men and relationships, I love clothes, I love gossip blogs.
I guess we all have a little bit of girly-girl in us!

i love that. i do my makeup in my car and if i arrive at my destination before i’m finished, i’m finished. i can’t even put eyeliner on the top of my eyes, only on the bottom. and only on special occasions do i actually wash my makeup off at the end of the day. fortunately, my breakouts are only stress related. i love to shop but i feel like i never have anything to wear. i guess that’s a typical girl response. i love to accessorize but i never think what i have on goes. but the home decor magazines (domino, blueprint, & real simple), the fashion magazines (vogue, elle), and the gossip magazines (us & intouch) keep me alive.

i am in no way a “girly-girl”. i love cars and trucks especially working on them! getting greased up actually isnt that bad as people make it out to be. i love muscle cars and big trucks. going mudding (4wd-ing), playing soccer, fishing, and camping are probably my favorite things todo. i never wear makeup unless the situation calls for it. i also for get to moisturize my face. i mostly wear jeans tanks and band tees, and i really would care less on what i look like. my shoes consist of converse high tops, black plain flip flops, soccer cleats and court shoes. i never do my hair…its flat thin and annoying so the most i do is wash it and comb it
so pretty much im not girly in any way
