From Both of Us: Will I be my own Valentine?
We will each be writing our own posts but every once in a while we will write posts together too. That will usually be when we are talking and we go, “Oh my God, I feel the same way! We should totally write about this together!”
Yesterday was Valentine’s Day, and we both tried something really novel - we did not look for validation in a box a chocolates or a rose-bearing man, but instead dedicated the day (and night) to doing things for ourselves. We figured that those benefits outlast any box of chocolates and definitely have less calories!
It’s not that we have no men in our lives, it’s just that we deal with them (and the corresponding drama) 364 other days of the year. So we thought that on this day we would focus on ourselves! Maybe even as a tribute to all women everywhere!
We didn’t want to be all neurotic and make this one random Wednesday about what we would get from a man, instead, we wanted it to be about ourselves - what makes us happy, what will bring us sucess, and what we enjoy. And we did just that. We worked on projects that would further our careers, we took time out to relax and enjoy the day, we talked with friends, and of course ate tons of chocolate! We had no expectations and we had the most fulfilling Valentine’s Day ever!
